Childbirth Education Classes - The Women's

We offer childbirth education programs as a service to all pregnant women, and their partners or support persons, who are booked to give birth at the Women's.

Our childbirth education classes are conducted in small groups of between eight to 10 women with their partner or support person. The classes are designed to educate and prepare prospective parents for labour, birth, breastfeeding and life at home with a new baby.

Our classes are offered in a variety of ways to accommodate different needs, ranging from all day programs to a series of classes over two to four sessions. We continually evaluate the program and strive to improve and develop our service to suit individual needs.

Hospital tours

Our childbirth education service conducts regular tours of our hospital for women booked to give birth at the Women's. The tours are conducted by an experienced midwife.

Due to significant interest and demand, tours of our new hospital are only open to women who are booked and due to give birth at the Women's in the near future.
