Nursing & Midwifery

The Royal Women's Hospital provides a comprehensive education and training program for nurses and midwives.

As the Women's is a recognised leader in women's health, some of our programs are also advertised externally, offering interested nursing and midwifery staff the chance to gain an insight into the care that is provided at our hospital.

Our Clinical Education team also coordinates and facilitates a large number of workshops and programs for all registered nurses and midwives throughout the hospital.

Programs

The Clinical Education Team includes a coordinator for the Graduate Nurse, Graduate Midwife and Graduate Midwife/Nurse Programs, and a full time educator providing expertise in the birthing suites. There is also an educator in acute care with involvement in theatre and the high dependency unit.

Our programs include:
  • Perineal Management Workshop
  • Complex Care Course
  • Fetal Monitoring Course
  • Adult CPR
  • Associate Nurse Unit Manager Development Workshop
  • Nursing Orientation
  • Undergraduate/Post Graduate Nursing/Midwifery Clinical Placement
