The Royal Women's Hospital community clinics operate at Kensington, Fawkner and Moonee Ponds.
Each clinic has its own team of midwives and doctors from the Women’s, which allows you to have some or all of your pregnancy care at your community clinic.
The birth of your baby and postnatal care will be at the Royal Women’s, at our new state-of-the-art hospital in Parkville.
If you have chosen shared maternity care, you can have most of your key hospital visits at a community clinic including the 26 weeks and 36 weeks visit.
However your first pregnancy care appointment and the 41 weeks check will be at the Women's.
Community clinics are convenient for some women as they are close to home and provide an opportunity to meet other pregnant women in their local area.
Some clinics have language-specific childbirth education and parenting classes in these community settings. The clinics also organise tours of the hospital.
