Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS) provides care for women who have pain and/or bleeding in the first 16 weeks of pregnancy.
|
An EPAS assessment involves diagnostic tests, ultrasound scanning, counselling and management-planning in one coordinated service. Following an EPAS appointment, most women will have a diagnosis explaining the cause of the pain/bleeding, and will leave with a management plan that includes (for example) a date for surgery, an antenatal clinic appointment and access to appropriate support.
