The Royal Women's Hospital offers screening for Hepatitis C to pregnant women considered at risk.

Hepatitis C screening is indicated in women with any of the following and can be requested by ticking Hepatitis C Ab on the Routine Antenatal Screen pathology request form:

- self / partner has a history of injecting substances
|
|
- in prison - past or present
|
- received blood products which later tested positive for Hepatitis C
|
|
- organ transplant prior to July 1992
|
|
No extra tube is required if already collecting blood for Hepatitis BsAg, Rubella IgG or TPHA (brown virology tube).
