Women with a confirmed complete or partial Hydatidiform Moles are registered with the Hydatidiform Mole Registry, and all follow up is supervised by Registry staff.
|
A chest x-ray should be undertaken when registered. Follow up usually involves weekly collection until results are normal (in the case of partial Hydatidiform Mole the patient is then discharged).
If the HCG level goes back to normal within 8 weeks in a woman with a complete molar pregnancy, then follow up is discontinued at that time, if a normal HCG level is not achieved by that time weekly monitoring continues until normal then monthly urine samples are required for 12 months. The woman is then discharged from the service
