"The Afternoon Tea", a fundraiser held to raise money to purchase two fold-up beds for use by oncology patient’s families was held on Saturday 21st July.

Attended by more than 130 people the day, held in a fantastic private home in Kew, was a huge success. The food (all of which was donated), along with the raffles (also donated) and the generosity of all those who came along, coupled with a beautiful sunny day made the event everything that organizer, Jo Murphy, had hoped for.
From collections and activities on the day and also through the raffle in the lead-up, money raised already exceeds $8,500 and this figure is expected to increase to more than $9,000 with personal donations still being received online.

Jo’s desire to help the families of other cancer patients at a time when she herself was fighting the disease was typical of the lovely, generous person she was.
Very sadly, Jo lost her fight on February 2, 2013. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time.
