The Oncology Unit provides specialist interdisciplinary care to women within an integrated inpatient and outpatient unit.
|
Women with an invasive malignancy and any woman with a complex pelvic mass and a raised CA-125 or CEA level should be referred. All referrals should be directed to the Oncology Fellow, who will undertake the investigations required to identify treatment options.
A definitive management plan is ideally achieved within four weeks of referral. Surgical and Chemotherapy services are available at the Women's; women needing radiation treatment are referred to Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre or a centre in proximity to their home
