The Oncology Unit provides specialist interdisciplinary care to women within an integrated inpatient and outpatient unit.
|
Women with an invasive malignancy and any woman with a complex pelvic mass and a raised CA-125 or CEA level should be referred. All referrals should be directed to the Oncology Fellow, who will undertake the investigations required to identify treatment options.
A definitive management plan is ideally achieved within four weeks of referral. Surgical and Chemotherapy services are available at the Women's, but women needing radiation treatment are referred to Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre or a centre in proximity to their home
