Pharmacy Education and Training

The Royal Women's Hospital provides a dynamic and challenging program for educating pharmacy students and pre-registration pharmacists in pharmacy practice specialising in women's health and the newborns. Specialities cover areas such as high risk obstetrics, gynaecology, oncology and neonatal intensive care.

Pre Registration Pharmacist (PRP)

During the PRP year, we offer a thorough and detailed program to develop professional skills and competencies in all aspects of pharmacy. PRPs rotate through all areas of pharmacy service, working closely with their pharmacists and are given opportunities to work independently covering appropriate clinical areas.

As part of the pharmacy team, each PRP is given a vital role as a member of the Adverse Drug Reaction, Medication Safety or intervention committee.

For more information, contact the Pre Registration Pharmacist Preceptor.

Pharmacy students - Advanced Practical Experience (APE)

Together with Monash University, the Women's pharmacy department offers five placements of 3 weeks duration for students in the APE program, each year.
