Refresher and Supervised Practice Programs

The Royal Women's Hospital conducts free refresher and supervised practice programs for registered nurses and midwives in January each year.

Programs are conducted at this time each year to ensure that there is appropriate support for participants in refresher and supervised practice programs. The next program will commence in the January 2007.

Please forward your application to:

Administration, Clinical Education Program
The Royal Women's Hospital
Locked Bag 300
Grattan St & Flemington Rd
Parkville VIC 3052

Please note that applications for refresher and supervised practice programs in 2007 will not be accepted after 17 November 2006.

Participants in the program must be permanent residents or citizens of Australia. We do not accept nurses or midwives into the refresher program whose lapse in practice extends beyond seven years.

Nurses or midwives (whose registration has lapsed) and who are seeking entry to the supervised practice program must not have a lapse in practice that extends beyond 10 years. Individuals who do not meet these criteria are advised to investigate appropriate re-entry programs (eg. RMIT). The Women's does not conduct re-entry programs.
