The breast service is integrated across the Women's and Royal Melbourne Hospital and offers an unrivalled service to patients with malignant or benign breast disease. Treatment and supportive care is offered by a multidisciplinary team.
|
Women with suspected breast cancer will be seen urgently within 1-2 weeks from referral and treatment commenced within 30 days. Surgical and Chemotherapy services are available within the service but women requiring radiotherapy are referred to the most appropriate centre for the woman and her family.
The breast service is supported in the delivery of care by the Women’s familial cancer centre and specialist fertility and menopause services at the Women's.
