Overview of what we do
CASA responds first and foremost to the concerns of victim/survivors of sexual assault who are in crisis. We recognise that sexual assault is a crime and, following consent from the victim/survivor, we liaise with the relevant law enforcement, health and legal agencies. At all times we seek to ensure the safety of the victim/survivor and promote their right to gain control over their experience.
CASA provide services which are free, confidential, accessible and appropriate in recognition of the particular needs arising from the universal, cultural and individual aspects of victim/survivors lives. We aim to ensure that the experience of victim/survivors of sexual assault informs the direction of the services provided.
CASA actively pursues strategies which seek to promote changes to those social, cultural, economic, legal and political structures which contribute to sexual assault. In addition, we:
- strive for the prevention and eliminating of sexual assault through strategies such as community and professional education, training and activities that promote increased public awareness
- initiate and publish research in order to break down myths and misconceptions surrounding sexual assault

Support groups
CASA House conducts support groups for women victim/survivors of sexual assault. Each year we provide facilitated groups which give participants the opportunity to support each other within a structured setting.
