Lesley Stafford, BA BSocSci Hons MA (Psych) MPsych (Clin) PhD MACPA
Dr Lesley Stafford is a clinical psychologist in the Centre for Women’s Mental Health at the Royal Women’s Hospital and a Senior Fellow in the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences at the University of Melbourne. Lesley has a PhD from the University of Melbourne. Her general area of interest is psychological adjustment in the context of chronic physical illness and she is specifically interested in the field of psycho-oncology. Her research focuses on understanding the experience of cancer and alleviating the considerable psychosocial burden associated with this disease. She is interested in developing interventions that improve the psychological, social and physical outcomes for individuals with cancer and their families. Lesley’s clinical work complements her research interests: She provides clinical services to women diagnosed with breast and gynaecological cancers, women genetically predisposed to developing cancer and women with menopausal symptoms secondary to cancer.
