Practical ImplanonNXT training

The Royal Women’s Clinical Champion Project is pleased to announce the resumption of face-to-face ImplanonNXT practical training workshops in 2022.

The workshop provides the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skill necessary to safely insert and remove Implanon NXT through supervised simulated practice.

Content includes clinical information, safe insertion and removal, indications and contraindications, and management of side effects.

Suitable for doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, and midwives. Opportunities for skill development in local anaesthetic administration are provided for nurses & midwives as required.

Prerequisites

Completion of Online Implanon NXT training.

Please provide evidence of completion of online training and course attendance.

Please note that it can take approximately two weeks to be registered to access the online training. The training itself takes approximately three hours to complete.

Attendee requirements

COVID-19 safety principles apply. Hospitals are categorised as high-risk settings, so attendees must:

  • pass the Women’s entry screening requirements
  • complete the room register on entry
  • perform hand hygiene on entering and leaving the room and during the event
  • maintain a 1.5m between participants
  • not bring food and beverages for personal consumption.
