Sexually transmitted infections

The Sexual Health and Rapid Access Service at the Women’s provide a specialist service for the management of sexually transmitted infections and/or blood borne viruses for women and their partners. 

Health issues treated

Sexually transmitted infections, including chlamydia, trichomoniasis, mycoplasma genitalium, gonorrhoea, genital warts and blood borne viruses.

What we do

The Sexual Health and Rapid Access Service at the Women’s provide testing, treatment, education and support for women and their partners in relation to sexually transmitted infections. 

The Sexual Health and Rapid Access Service also provides care for women and men who have been sexually assaulted.

Referrals

Women can be referred to the Sexual Health and Rapid Access Service by any of their health workers such as a GP, community nurse or case manager. 

What to bring

  • Any test or imaging results you already have
  • Your Medicare card
  • Your Health Care card (if you have one)
  • The result of your last Cervical Smear Test
  • A list of the medicines you are taking, including the ones you have bought without a prescription
