Staying well

Staying well and healthy has little to do with seeing doctors or interacting with the healthcare system.

Most of what we do to stay well and healthy has little to do with seeing doctors or interacting with the healthcare system.

Staying well is mostly about keeping our bodies in the best shape we can by keeping in a healthy weight range; being active; and eating and sleeping well. It's also about taking care to prevent injury, sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancy; protecting our skin from the sun; looking after our teeth; and not using harmful substances. We can also look after our mental health by having positive relationships, keeping our minds active, contributing to our community through work or other meaningful activity, and feeling valued.
