The Women’s would like to reassure all patients, families and visitors that while works are currently underway to replace all non-compliant external cladding at our Parkville building, there will be no impact on patients, staff or visitors.
A small portion of the west side of our hospital building has non-compliant cladding. Less than 10 per cent of the surface area is affected and the rest of the building is made up of glass panels and reinforced concrete.
An independent building surveyor has confirmed the Women’s Parkville building is safe to occupy. Management is fully committed to ensuring the utmost safety for patients and staff and all our safety management systems are regularly reviewed and updated.
