Tanya Farrell, our Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery, has won the UTS: Alumni Award for Excellence – Faculty of Health 2015.
The University of Technology Sydney Alumni announced the award by saying: “With her strategic vision and capacity to lead others through significant change, it’s no surprise that Tanya Farrell is one of Australia’s most successful leaders in healthcare.”
Tanya said: “My challenge every day is to ensure that we are able to both meet the needs of our nurses and midwives, and ensure that women, babies and their families receive the best care possible.”
Tanya has also advanced nursing and midwifery through her contributions to numerous boards, committees and professional bodies. Tanya had recently been appointed to the Board of the Australian College of Midwives.
In 2014, Tanya was appointed an Adjunct Professor at La Trobe University. Announcing the appointment, the Women’s CEO Dr Sue Matthews said it was an acknowledgement of Tanya's ongoing commitment to improving the care of mothers and babies, and of her leadership in the field of midwifery.
