Volunteer

Volunteers support our patients at the Women’s

Volunteers at the Women's contribute to creating exceptional experiences for patients and visitors, offering their skills and energy where and when it is needed most.

For more information about volunteering see How to Volunteer, or go directly to our application page.

The Volunteer Program at the Women’s is an extension of the hospital’s commitment to the health and wellbeing of women and babies. Volunteers are an integral and valued part of our innovative, compassionate and caring hospital community, contributing to the services we provide and enriching the quality of hospital life.

Our volunteers come from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences, and complement clinical and support services with their knowledge, enthusiasm, empathy and generosity. They are easily recognised by their volunteer uniform and are often the first point of contact for newcomers to the hospital.

The Volunteer Program operates across many areas of the hospital, and as our patients’ needs evolve, so too does our range of volunteer activities. We work with the community to attract the right volunteer skills and expertise to expand and diversify our support. The Women’s Volunteer Program aligns with the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement.
