Making care easier - trauma and violence informed care
This short eLearning module introduces the first two steps in providing trauma and violence informed care (TVIC) – a compassionate, person-centred approach that supports both patients and staff.
At the Women’s, we understand that many people accessing our services have experienced trauma or violence. We also know that working in healthcare can be emotionally demanding. This training supports staff to build their understanding of trauma and begin applying TVIC principles in everyday practice.
What you’ll learn
-
Step 1: Develop an understanding of trauma, its impacts, and how common it is in the community.
-
Step 2: Explore how TVIC principles can be integrated into your day-to-day work.
You’ll also learn how your own wellbeing and support systems are essential to providing safe, respectful care. The module emphasises the importance of emotionally healthy and well-supported staff in creating safe and healing environments for all.
By completing this module, you’ll take the first steps in building a more trauma-informed approach to care – for patients, for colleagues, and for yourself.
